Homeschooling: Benefits and Practical Tools In-Person

Amanda Brown will share how she started homeschooling, how she found her way of homeschooling, and will teach understanding and using library resources, as well as practical tools, to help you customize homeschooling.

She is a Library Specialist in the Youth Services Department of the Community Library Network and has 11 years of experience facilitating the education of her 3 children; in homeschool, public school, and charter school, each according to their needs — including learning preferences, as well as disabilities.

Amanda received her teaching certificate and BA in Education from EWU and completed her student teaching prior to becoming a mother. She began her homeschool journey when her oldest was in preschool and will share her background of choosing homeschooling to meet the needs of her children followed by answering questions of other families considering the best educational options for their individual situations.
